Ceramic
rings are used in filters as a biological media. These rings are highly
porous and are also strong. We have not found any other rings that are
this porous and strong. This product is the result of many years of
research and is manufactured by Bio-Elite.

Bio-Elite's ceramic rings are made of non-toxic, inert materials that promote bacterial growth.
The amazing capillary action of the ceramic rings is a direct result of the manufacturing technique that is
used to ensure the rings are highly porous and have a vast surface area. The large surface areas internally and externally make them the perfect environment for the beneficial bacteria that remove ammonia and nitrite from the water.
